New updates and improvements to the Genoverse

Below are some of the items the Genopets team has worked on over the past few weeks. We’re pulling back the curtain to show you, fellow Genovians, what goes into making a game.

Note: most items below, unless noted, are not final. Many things that we share in Status Reports will include early renderings, prototypes, or explorations so please keep that in mind when sharing thoughts.


A Status Report LIVE! — Albert, Ben, Kevin, and Jay walk you through the biggest Genopets updates at our latest TownHall

Based on the most popular discussions on Discord and the exciting updates the Genopets team has to share, Albert, Ben, Kevin and Jay were live on TownHall today to discuss things like Entering Private Beta, Stats from Habitat Management, Cheat prevention, economic sustainability, road map (wen crafting?) and so much more.

Fireworks and trumpets blare — Habitat Management launched to great fanfare 🎺

It was the moment we’d all been waiting for, and we finally got to experience it all together. Habitat Management launched on Wednesday 8/10/2022 at 15:00 UTC and players INSTANTLY began playing.

New look, still us — the Genopets website got an exciting face-lift

Just like your Genopet, the Genopets brand is constantly evolving. We’ve recently updated our website to reflect the visual evolution of our brand. If you haven’t checked it out yet, make sure you do! You’ll be able to see our updated roadmap, game page, and our Dual-Token System page to understand all the ways you’ll be able to use GENE and KI.

A few other highlights:

  • In response to the slope wallet hack a few weeks ago, we launched a new KI token. The old KI token has been deprecated

  • Last Status Report you saw the new evolution sequence. It just got a whole lot better — have a listen to the custom music we’ve created for it (Anyone else feeling emotional? They grow up so fast 🥲)
  • With everything our team has accomplished so far we’re feeling happy, and so are the Genopets — check out the happy sounds for Genopets stages 3–6
  • We merged our whitepaper and litepaper into one official paper for all things Genopets! Check out the latest updates here​
  • And just like us, as Genopets grow they like to show off their unique style. Here is a look at what embracing the elements could look like for your Genopet
  • Our team is constantly working to make our UX seamless, and with that in mind they’ve been working on an updated version of our Mainframe
  • Preliminary designs have been created for our Crafting UX that will be available on Mainframe
  • More and more toys have been created to spoil your Genopets with — including a drone and a yoyo

  • Food treats have been coming along swimmingly. Last week these items were merely vectorized sketches and now they’re 3D models on their way to being an in-game asset
