What is a Habitat?

A Habitat is the primary NFT needed in Genopets to become a merchant and unlock the earning side of the game. Additionally, it serves as your Genopet's home within the mobile app. 

There are two different types of Habitats—regular and Genesis. They both function the same, but Genesis Habitats possess special advantages, such as the ability to spawn Genotype Crystals of any element and higher KI Harvesting caps.

How to Get a Habitat

To get a Habitat, you can buy one on Magic Eden (Genesis Habitat Collection l Habitat Collection), a marketplace for NFTs, or rent one from another player. To interact with your Habitat, you'll need a digital wallet and to access the Genopets Mainframe.

When buying a Habitat on Magic Eden the easiest option is to filter by 'brand new'. If you're looking for a deal, you can explore the dormant or decayed Habitats up for sale, but keep in mind you will need KI or GENE to revive them after your purchase.

What Can You Do with a Habitat?

1. Harvest KI

You can earn KI Tokens every day by using your Energy to Harvest KI from your Habitat. The more you Harvest, the more rewards you can earn.

2. Refine Crystals

Your Habitat will produce Crystals every day. You can Refine these Crystals to use them for Crafting or sell them to other players.

3. Practice Alchemy (Craft)

In your Habitat's Laboratory, you can use recipes to Craft items like Augments and Cosmetic Crystals. These items can be used to customize your Genopet's appearance and abilities.

4. Terraform New Habitats

You can create new Habitats using Terraform Seeds. By connecting these new Habitats as sub-Habitats, you can increase your Harvesting capacity.

How to Earn with a Habitat

1. Harvest KI

By using your Energy to Harvest KI Tokens from your Habitat, you can earn rewards every day. The higher the level of your Habitat is, the more rewards you can earn.

2. Sell Items

You can craft items in your Habitat's Laboratory and sell them to other players on the P2P Marketplace.

3. Rent Out Your Habitat

You can lease your Habitat to other players as an Alchemist or a Harvester, earning rent in the process.

4. Sell Your Habitat

If you have created additional Habitats, you can sell them to other players on Magic Eden.

Maintaining Your Habitat

To keep your Habitat in good condition, you need to repair it regularly using Refined Crystals. If your Habitat becomes dormant, you will need to pay a revival cost to bring it back to life.
