New updates and improvements to the Genoverse
Below are some of the items the Genopets team has worked on over the past few weeks. We’re pulling back the curtain to show you, fellow Genovians, what goes into making a game.
Note: items below, unless noted, are not final. Most things we share in Status Reports include early renderings, prototypes, or explorations, so please keep that in mind when sharing thoughts.
With the start of Private Beta phase 1A less than a few weeks away on January 20th, we’ll soon have beta signup live on the website for anyone interested in joining the Private Beta of Genopets. Genesis Pet Holders, DNA community members, GENE Token Stakers and Select Scholars of Guilds will have priority access. Filling out this form will create your Genopets game account and officially put you in the queue to get started playing the game. More details to come.
Move-to-earn includes “move” for a reason. Check out this rendering of how Genopets will walk around their habitats, and use it as inspiration to spend some time outside this week.
Work in style — Bump the Genopets theme song 🎧 on repeat

- Battle is coming in a later phase of the game, but we’ve already started animating early Genopet attack movements. What do you think?
- Wrapped story boarding and began production for upcoming game trailer
- Finished animating the bank button for collecting steps
- Began scoping out push notifications — including helpful reminders to maximize your XP
- Determined secret puzzles 🤫 for upcoming Genesis Habitat Treasure Hunt
- Implemented unit testing on Android and iOS apps
- Held auditions for the voice of W.H.I.T.T.A.K.R — we received over 100+ applicants 😮
