New updates and improvements to the Genoverse
Below are some of the items the Genopets team has worked on over the past few weeks. We’re pulling back the curtain to show you, fellow Genovians, what goes into making a game.
Note: items below, unless noted, are not final. Most things we share in Status Reports include early renderings, prototypes, or explorations, so please keep that in mind when sharing thoughts.
We Began Our Trek Along The Road To Market—The Final Road of Phase II
The Road To Market is our final journey before entering Phase III. Phase III marks the transition from Whitelist Beta to Public Beta, enabling everyone to summon their Genopet and start playing without invite codes 😍
In Phase II, we'll introduce challenges, achievements, and an in-app marketplace. For an in-depth look at each stop along the road, read up here.
And we've completed the first steps of the journey! You may notice the Roadmap looks a little different. That's because we moved so fast, we had to swap around some landmarks. the Expedite and Re-roll features have launched and Augment Stats are underway.
Expedite feature: Feeling low on patience? Players can now speed up Crafting times with GENE or sGENE.
Re-roll feature: Don't love what you Crafted? Players can now spend GENE to re-roll for a chance at a better item.
Fridays Just Got Golden🌟—#FreeBabyFridays Featuring Bitcoin Babies
At Genopets we love a good giveaway—our latest antic being #FreeBabyFridays. Every Friday we’ll be giving one lucky community member a Bitcoin Baby. For those who don’t know, Bitcoin Babies are limited-edition Genopets NFTs from our revolutionary Ordinals Mint.

You And Your Genopet Are More Similar Than Ever—Nurture Decay Rates Update
On May 26th, Nurture Actions decay rates got an update. Since then, you may have noticed a more natural rate of decay of your Genopet’s Nutrition and Joy.
Now your Genopet's Nutrition and Joy function more similarly to yours. Just like how you get gradually more hungry the further you get from your last meal, so will your Genopet. Same goes for Joy. Your Genopet will not get increasingly sad the more time passes since the last time you played with them.
Let's break down these changes for Nutrition and Joy individually.
Nutrition:
Feeding is the player action that can increase Nutrition.
Before: Every 12 hours Nutrition decayed 50 points at once.
Now: Nutrition decays an equal amount every hour starting from the time of the last successful Feeding action, equivalent to 50 points every 12 hours.
Joy:
Playing Fetch is a player action that can increase Joy.
Before: Joy decayed 30 points every 24 hours.
Now: Joy decays an equal amount every hour starting from the time of the last successful Playing action, equivalent to 30 points every 24 hours.
A few other highlights:
- Camera Feature (in progress): Start getting your Genopet’s photo ready. You’ll soon be able to take in-app snaps of your digital bestie 📸
- With the rollout of Augment Stats, a new comprehensive pet details screen is being deployed where you can see all your Genopet’s stats and how they’re affected by their augments
- We have made sweeping optimizations to improve app performance. Including texture compression and polygon reduction. Player experience should be much smoother on all devices.
- Alkali Energy Boosts are now usable in-app!
- App update v0.6.3 went live. This fixed the issue smaller devices, like the iPhone SE, were having with the W.H.I.T.T.A.K.R. tool tips blocking actions.
- A new Summoning scene has been matching players with their Genovian counterparts
