New updates and improvements to the Genoverse
Below are some of the items the Genopets team has worked on over the past few weeks. We’re pulling back the curtain to show you, fellow Genovians, what goes into making a game.
Note: items below, unless noted, are not final. Most things we share in Status Reports include early renderings, prototypes, or explorations, so please keep that in mind when sharing thoughts.
Your Feedback Matters—Feed and Fetch Upgrades In-App Update v.0.5.1 📱
Major Upgrade 1: Practice Items
Two new items have been added to your Food and Toy inventories within the Feed and Fetch mini-games—a Juggling Ball and a Sampuru Rice Ball. These Items are infinite, so throw them as much as you want for unlimited practice time.
Major Upgrade 2: Enhanced UI for Nurture Mini-games
Feed and Fetch now feature animated arrows, making it clear when and how to throw your Genopet Food and Toys.
Major Upgrade 3: Updated Pacing for Fetch Mini-Game
We slowed the pace of the Fetch mini-game, giving you more time to release your throw.
Major Upgrade 4: Feed Mini-Game Improvements
We implemented larger hitboxes and extended the green zone to give you a better chance to Feed your Genopet successfully.
The Ring colors in the mini-game have been made more distinct to make it easier to know when to throw.
The motion of the ring pattern has been updated to be slow, slightly faster, then fast. The sequence repeats so users can get their bearings.
Major Upgrade 5: Item Selection Made Easier
You can now throw the same Item again without needing to scroll through your Inventory.
Scrolling through your Items, you'll notice that your Food and Toys are sorted by quantity.
Keep It Coming—A Sneak Peek at Future Mini-Game Updates 👀
Players are already experiencing upgraded gameplay with the latest app update—update v.0.5.1—but that doesn’t mean there isn’t more to come. Keep sharing your feedback because we will continuously update the Nurture mini-games and the rest of the app based on what you say.
In the next update of the Feed mini-game, we’re looking to up the realism of throwing food to your Genopet. Check out this sneak peek of an unsuccessful throw bouncing off your Genopet ⬇️
#MARCHintotheGenoverse—Discord Challenge Series 🏆
Genopets isn’t just a game; it’s a global community. And we want to continue cultivating a kind, excited, and connected community as we grow. With those glorious plans in mind, we’ve developed a Discord Challenge Series called #MARCHintotheGenoverse to encourage Genoverians to pamper themselves and their Genopets.
Every Friday, we will unveil the weekly challenge details, and TWO lucky winners will be selected each week at random to walk with different augment prizes.
