New updates and improvements to the Genoverse
Below are some of the items the Genopets team has worked on over the past few weeks. We’re pulling back the curtain to show you, fellow Genovians, what goes into making a game.
We found the greatest treasure of all — It’s all of you!
We want to thank you for allowing us to design a game full of creativity (and a bit of mischief) as we explored the question: What kind of game company do we want to be?
Our epic 6-week treasure hunt came to a dramatic finish as Genovians raced to complete a multitude of mind-bending puzzles. Over the last few weeks, our Discord community grew by tens of thousands of members, and 25,000 crystals were claimed in the hopes of minting a Genesis Habitat. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
Create your own world — Genesis Habitat Terraforming is live!
Since Monday, over 4,200 Level 1 Genesis Habitats have been terraformed! Once you’ve collected all 5 Elemental Classes of crystals and a terraform seed, you’ll be ready to bring your Genesis Habitat to life. You have all month to claim your Genesis Habitat and own a piece of Genoverse history. Check out a glimpse of the truly immersive habitat-minting experience below!
No two worlds are alike — Habitats are procedurally generated and one of a kind 🤩
Our team has been working furiously to bring mystical homes for your Genopet to life. Each habitat will coincide with the Elemental Classes of water, wood, earth, metal, and fire and will be filled with specialized foliage and portals specific to the habitat’s elemental class.
The choices you made while crafting your Habitat determined all the details of your NFT. What element it is, where the foliage is placed, how many little structures there are, etc. Every detail of its overall design is determined by how you played and created in Unity at the moment you minted. This creates player-controlled rarity for our NFT mints where the community’s actions in game determine the attributes of each NFT in the collection.
To create a sense of time progression within the Genoverse, Habitats will also feature day and night cycles that coincide with your device’s local time. To learn more about Habitats, go here.
Reminder: Genesis habitats will spawn crystals of ALL Elemental Classes and earn bonus KI Token rewards, whereas regular Habitats will only spawn the crystal class that coincides with the Habitat type.
Calling all babies and baby-makers! — Our Internal pet studio was born
Stage 1 Genopets are developed. Look at how cool our Genopet Studio is! We created an internal program where our team can procedurally generate Genopets of all stages at any time for marketing and testing. What’s your favorite combo?
“Let there be life!” — See the voice of W.H.I.T.T.A.K.R in action
W.H.I.T.T.A.K.R may be an advanced A.I., but his character is really beginning to take shape. We are updating the onboarding flow of the game with a custom oscillator that moves to the sound of W.H.I.T.T.A.K.R’s voice.
Oh stop it! — Genopets featured at GDC on the big screen 🎥
FTX Gaming and Solana had Genopets featured front and center on their big screen at the Game Developer Conference (GDC), reminding everyone just how cool minting a Genopet is.
More than a fitness app — We’re finalizing game economics
To play Genopets you’ll need to take steps, but that’s just the beginning. More than being the most beautifully designed fitness app you’ve ever come across, Genopets is a game. From feeding, playing, and cleaning your Genopet, to refining crystals, and earning KI, game design and economics are being finalized. More on this soon, we’ll have a detailed report and whitepaper update when game economics are complete.
A few other highlights:
- Started to design nurture mini-games!
- Figured out exponential curve for how pet mood and movement coincide
- Began working on sounds for your Genopets
- Modeled positions for accessory attachments
- NoBODY can stop us now…we’re HEADED in that right direction 🥁

- Ambient sound loops have been created for each elemental type of habitat
- Ring animations have been added to the login process
- Leaderboards for step counting and the treasure hunt have been updated to feature: today, this week, and all time
- The official KI token icon has been designed in preparation for our KI Token launch
- Updated Candy Machine IDs and Hashlists for Genopets assets
