Dev Update with Albert
Albert took the stage to reveal the upcoming wonders in Genopets' development:
v0.9.1 Augmentation Upgrade
In the upcoming v0.9.1 update, a significant upgrade to customization will be made via an Augmentation upgrade. The update introduces support for Shells and Tattoos. Shells, a novel cosmetic item, alter a Genopet's skin appearance and texture. Notably, custom tattoos will soon be supported, promising an exciting avenue for Guilds to showcase unique ink that all members can sport proudly in the game.
P2P Marketplace and Mainframe Integration
Building on the shop feature introduced in v0.9.0, Genopets is gearing up for the official launch of the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Marketplace in v0.9.1. This will coincide with a Mainframe update featuring an SFT Marketplace, allowing players to initiate trades directly. The introduction of craftable items available for purchase with Qubits in the app ensures a more inclusive token economy, even for non-Web3 players. Genopets takes the lead in bringing the Web3 economy seamlessly to players, with Marketplace fees converted into GENE tokens for added user benefits.
Economy Update and GENE Token Focus
The economy gears up for a transformative 2024. After focusing on on-chain infrastructure and mobile app experience in 2022 and 2023, respectively, the spotlight is now on the GENE token. All Marketplace fees will buy back GENE, offering users the advantage of a native currency-denominated Marketplace with a streamlined user experience. Albert plans to propose economic changes, including making GENE mandatory for creating tradeable KI which we believe will initiate spillover effects in the Genopets economy.
V1 Launch with Kevin
Kevin shared exciting news about the impending V1 Launch, marking a pivotal moment in Genopets' journey:
Completing the Roadmap
Having conquered the Road to KI, Road to Crafting, and Road to Market milestones, V1 signifies the removal of invite codes. Genopets will become freely downloadable and shareable, unleashing the Genoverse to a broader audience. During V1, the team's focus will be dedicated to refining the app, enhancing existing features, and revamping the onboarding experience for a smoother user journey.
Enhanced Referral Code and Reward System
A fully fleshed-out referral code and reward system will also be activated, giving users more incentives to engage and share the Genopets experience.
Treasure Hunt with Jay
Jay spilled the beans on the highly anticipated Treasure Hunt, set to kick off on January 12, 2023.
Visionary Theme and Legendary Prizes
Themed around seeing things for what they truly are, the Treasure Hunt promises an exhilarating experience. The Legendary Eye Augment awaits the ultimate victor. Collect Golden Kippu by solving puzzles, and wager them with B.L.I.N.K. to earn exclusive prizes.
DRIP Drops and Treasure Hunt Related Events

Battle Update with Kevin & Ben
Kevin unveiled the ambitious plans for the Genopets Battle System and Ben gave us a behind-the-scenes look at what Mainframe PvP will look like.
Mobile-Experience and Mainframe Battles
The Battle System is evolving with a mobile-experience version catering to casual pet battlers. Simultaneously, a more traditional Mainframe Battle is in the works, offering intense PvP competitions where Augments play a strategic role.
